I'm in love with neutrals. I'm drawn to sleek black bodysuits and clean white tees and cozy grey cashmere. My love affair with neutrals doesn't go unnoticed. I once wore a dark purple shirt to work, and my boss stared at me and was like, "Oh...color, wow."
I was shopping for some blazers to try to expand my outfit options for work, and found myself strangely drawn to a bright yellow blazer from Zara. I'm not sure what's going on with. Maybe I have spring fever and this 80 degree weather we've had in Atlanta is getting to my head.
I didn't pull the trigger immediately (bright color is quite the push out of my comfort zone), but started researching tons of options, as I do. As I searched, the statement blazer, a piece I usually intentionally purchase to be neutral or versatile, suddenly seemed strangely missing from my wardrobe. I'm guessing it's because I do have so many of my neutrals/basics covered, that I'm often missing that extra interest piece to throw on to complete my outfit.
Here are some of the statement blazers I'm considering. I'd love to know your favorites, too!
Red Zara Crepe Blazer
I'm leaning so strongly toward the bright red one, but will probably decide on one of these pretty soon. But before I do, what bold blazers are you loving?
Yellow Zara Long Blazer
The yellow one that started this whole craze!
Free People Halo Blazer in Ballet
I like the idea of mixing things that aren't "supposed to be" mixed. One of the reasons I'm loving this Free People blazer made of wintery velvet in fresh pastels. Perfect for if you live somewhere cold and still have to bundle up, but with the temps already so high in the south, I'll sadly have to pass on this one.
Grey Miss Selfridge Checked Blazer from Asos
This one feels like the "safest" of the options, probably because it's grey. I feel like the edge comes because it's double breasted and has white buttons. Love the white buttons!
